“I was missing a medal in the Parapan American Games; I am very satisfied because I’ve achieved

it, and it makes me as happy as the record. Yes, it’s time to say it, my goal is to reach eight meters and I won’t stop until I accomplish it,” the young jumper told revista Jit after his title win in Santiago, Chile.

In athletics, Cubans Ever Castro and Leonardo Díaz also won medals. In the final of the javelin in

the F41 category, Castro claimed the title with a mark of 35.21 meters, while his colleague Díaz secured the silver medal in the discus F56, with a throw of 37.35 meters.

“I am very happy with this result; my coach called me to advise me because she noticed I was very

anxious, and that was because I wanted my efforts to show. I feel great,” Castro commented.

Finally, Cuban sprinter Omara Durand easily dominated the 100 meters race in the T12 category at the

VII Parapan American Games in Santiago 2023, adding her second title of the tournament.

“I am very satisfied because we are achieving the goals we set: to win three titles. I feel very

happy with today’s result, as I was able to equal a mark from many years ago, during which I have remained undefeated,” the multiple medalist stated.

On this day, Friday, November 24, Cuba is participating in four sports, with medal opportunities in

taekwondo, cycling, and athletics.
